My daughter and I read Where's Spot four times today (just as we did yesterday), and we read The Very Hungry Caterpillar, Cinderella, If You Love a Nursery Rhyme, and Good Morning, Good Night at least two or three times today as well (just as we did yesterday). On the plus side, if any of these books get lost … Continue reading Time to rotate the reading stack…. #babylovesreading #babyreader
I think my daughter has no OFF switch when it comes to eating Cheerios - dry or in milk. I'm pretty sure she'd keep just eating them until she bursts!
I take my daughter to one gymnastics class - just ONE short, open play hour at the gym - and she all of a sudden discovers she can climb onto the ottoman, footstool, any chair, baseboard register (always when my back is turned for the one second, of course), you name it, and she wants … Continue reading The award for most mischievous baby goes to… #babygymnast
I'm not sure if I should be ecstatic or worried about my daughter devouring spicy foods - made with bell peppers, cayenne, cumin, curry, you name it. Now I can make whatever I want for dinner, and she'll eat it ... unfortunately my picky-eater husband refuses spicy foods! Am I in upside-down world?!
Forget "hi" and "bye," "please" and "thank you"; I want one of my daughter's first words to be "poop!" That way she can say it when she fills her diaper when we lay her down for naptime instead of babbling like she does no matter what's in her diaper.
There's only one good thing to come out of my daughter having a cold: on account of not being able to breathe through her nose, her sucking thumb has had a rest. First time that digit hasn't been shriveled in months!
A friend gave our daughter a huge bag of Mega Blocks this week. So far a battleship, the Sears Towers, the Empire State Building, a bear armchair, and a toy car garage have been built - by my husband and I, of course. We can't wait for her to start playing with Legos...
I stumbled upon a universal law as true as Occam's Razor or the First Law of Thermodynamics: your children will be angels for the grandparents but screaming devils before they arrive and after they leave. Happens every time.... Trouble for me and daddy, but at least it keeps the grandparents coming!
My husband - not me, the ex-gymnast who would love nothing more than to watch my daughter love the sport as much as I did and still do - is trying to teach our fifteen-month-old how to do a forward roll. I tell him it's dangerous, that her arms aren't strong enough yet to protect … Continue reading The next Shannon Miller / Nastia Liukin / Carly Patterson / Gabrielle Douglas? #babygymnast #foreheadsmack
My daughter and I are really close. I mean, she's seen my boobs hundreds of times (duh) - hell, she's seen me naked plenty of times - and she comes into the bathroom when I have to pee and poop. Umm, I've even held her in my arms and pooped once (it was a super … Continue reading As close and mom and daughter can be? #babyboogers
