At 4 months old, I think a baby most resembles a foreign traveler…
They babble to you in a foreign language you just can’t understand.
They’re constantly ordering drinks from you.
They’re always peeing and pooping in places they think is the bathroom (but of course isn’t).
They come into your life but try to live on their own crazy schedule instead of melding with the local environment.
Unlike foreign travelers, however, this baby is not a temporary visitor (thank God, really, because we love these little babies!), so the babbling, never-ending drinks bar (my milkmakers!), and continuous accidents continue … well, let’s just say for a long time –
Until that baby learns the language, finds the bathroom, and finds out when the restaurants close!
