Me: “You like to do a lot of crafty things and painting, don’t you? Like mommy and grandma like to do?”
Toddler: [While washing hands.] “Yeah, those are my things. And there are mommy things … and daddy things … and grandma things … and baby sister things….”
Me: “What are baby sister things?”
Toddler: “Face raking!”
I really laughed at this one … because if there’s one thing baby is good at, it’s being slow to learn what gentle means – while she face rakes, and fish hooks, and face slaps, and bites us…. Her poor abused family … but how cute she is!
