The new school year has started, and aren’t we excited? Anyone else been late for school yet? (Dammit, it was just one minute, I swear!) And who else loves rushing around again in the morning while your kid brushes their teeth and chews their breakfast at a glacial pace? Sigh. But hey, learning is happening!
I get a kick out of hearing what Squish says happened during her school day; mostly she doesn’t tell me anything (why do kids do this?!). Most of the time I can’t take what she says as fact because it doesn’t make sense. Let’s celebrate the start of the school year with a quote from Squish after her orientation two weeks ago. Do you trust her?
Me: “Who else will be in your class?”
Squish: “I don’t know.”
Me: “What about the twins from your class last year?”
Husband: “What are their names?”
Squish: [long pause] “Tweedledee and Tweedledum!”
Let’s hope I find out just a morsel or two or truth from her this year!
Do your kids tell you what goes on during their school year?
