I won't lie that the moment my husband walks through the door around 4:05 PM is one of my top 3 moments every day. (Some days it's THE top moment! You know those days....) You know who else loves it? Baby! (Aside: Do I still call her Baby, since she's now 1? I'll need to … Continue reading Sweet Memories Friday: Excited To See Daddy Return From Work!
No, we don't have Toddler watching The Walking Dead with us. (Though I bet Judith would be her favorite character, duh.) Baby is a good month into this whole walking thing, so she's pretty steady on her feet. However, she's still at that adorable baby walking stage where she half looks like a weeble-wobble and … Continue reading “She’s a Zombaby!!” Said Toddler
This is sort of more appropriate for "Toddler Talk Tuesday," but honestly - I have almost too much material for that day. Pretty much everything that comes out of Toddler's mouth would be entertainment for everyone but the Grinch and Scrooge and Maleficent et al. But I have to share here because it makes me wonder how … Continue reading Into the Mind of a Toddler…
Do you remember being a curious kid? Wanting to know everything? Having a question every five minutes? I do, and Toddler has the bug, too. I like that she's eager to learn, and I like teaching her things. This past Wednesday was National Trivia Day, and I told her over breakfast what trivia is and … Continue reading Sweet Memories Friday: A Curious Toddler
Merry Christmas, everyone! I'll be offline for the next few days enjoying Christmas and Hanukkah, and I hope you and your families will be as well. May Santa and the holiday Maccabee (that's a Friends joke) be good to you all! Also, thank you for reading and (hopefully) enjoying this blog - I appreciate all … Continue reading Merry Christmas and Happy Hanukkah From Us!
So with baby #2, we've been a bit more lax with clothes. As in, I kind of could care less if she's wearing a cute outfit, let alone a matching one. (In fact I've enjoyed, in a way, channeling my inner Mondo Guerra and putting Baby in print-on-print outfits.) We've actually - gasp - let her … Continue reading Do You HAVE To Wear Day Clothes, Baby?
Last week I hosted a playdate, and there were 9 kids including my 9mo and 3yo. We took some photos of the kids all together - they were so dang cute, baking mini pumpkin pies by the way - and we showed them to Toddler's grandparents when they visited the next day. I was prompting … Continue reading Sweet Memories Friday: May You Always Be Best Friends!
I never thought I'd want my daughter to be quoting Disney movies, but wow - is it ever cute when she says, "A dream is a wish your heart makes when you're fast alseep," just in passing or contemplatively as if she just thought it up.
I love how kids know a word but don't really "get" what it means. They don't know what it really applies to - as in, is it a place? A thing? A feeling? My daughter likes to go upstairs to "look for imagination." Too cute! When she gets up there she says, "Where could it … Continue reading My toddler can find imagination!
Parents give their kids pretty ridiculous nicknames - to their face or otherwise - but it struck husband and I a bit ago how funny it will be when our daughter signs into her college savings plan when she's of age and types in the username "babysquisherpants" ... It's cute now, but then?! #babynicknames #toocute
