I know that I have very little patience at times ... but what is it about toddlers sensing when you're trying to hurry them up - you know, because we have to get somewhere or just generally don't want to spend five minutes washing their hands after being on the toilet for fifteen minutes - … Continue reading Speed Up = Slow Down (To a Toddler)
... Because my kids' grandmothers sure think that! They appear out of nowhere bearing gifts for every occasion - or no occasion at all. Those gifts are things you'd never dream of giving your kids - literally, I would never, ever consider giving my kids what these grandmothers sometimes choose (eg, extra-loud dress up heels). … Continue reading Do All Grandmothers Think They’re Fairy Godmothers?…
There are a couple times when nudity surprises you (... my sister texted me a photo of a naked guy walking down her Miami Beach street during Gay Pride Week ... I can never unsee that...), but as a mom I get pretty used to nude kids. Bathtime, getting dressed, kids refusing to get dressed … Continue reading Kids and Nudity – Surpise!

On the plus side, if any of these books get lost … Continue reading Time to rotate the reading stack…. #babylovesreading #babyreader
I'm not sure if I should be ecstatic or worried about my daughter devouring spicy foods - made with bell peppers, cayenne, cumin, curry, you name it. I stumbled upon a universal law as true as Occam's Razor or the First Law of Thermodynamics: your children will be angels for the grandparents but screaming devils before they arrive and after they leave. Happens every time.... Trouble for me and daddy, but at least it keeps the grandparents coming!
